Usain Bolt

Usain Bolt Cheats?

Usain Bolt is a Jamaican sprinter who holds world and Olympic records in both the 100 meters and 200 meters, with times of 9.69 seconds and 19.30 seconds, respectively. He is the first man in history to break both world records at one Olympics, and the first man to win both the 100 and 200 meters events at the same Olympics since Carl Lewis in 1984. His name and achievements in sprinting have earned him the media nickname “Lightning Bolt”.

Such dominate performance is cause for some to speculate about possible cheating by Usain Bolt. Bolt has denied taking performance-enhancing drugs and has not failed a drug test. Yet, his coach acknowledges, it will be impossible for Bolt to avoid skepticism given the sport’s clouded history. A number of Olympic champions, world champions and record holders have been stripped of their sprint medals, records and reputations, including Ben Johnson, Marion Jones, Justin Gatlin, Tim Montgomery and Kelli White.

Usain Bolt CHEATed in the Olympics
Chester Cheater

Usain Bolt competes for Jamaica, a country without a random drug testing policy. Drug tests are scheduled in advance and separated by months. This explains Usain Bolt’s superman like performances. Recently interviewed by Sports Illustrated, Carl Lewis had this to say about Bolt, “When people ask me about Bolt I say he could be the greatest athlete of all-time. But for someone to run 10.03 one year and 9.69 the next, if you don’t question that in a sport that has the reputation it has right now, you’re a fool. Period.” It sounds like one of the greatest athletes of all time is skeptical of Bolt’s performance. Lewis questions the Jamaican sprinting program in general, including the women, “Veronica Campbell-Brown lives in the United States and has been transparent and consistent. She won the worlds last year in the 100 meters and this year can’t even make the (Jamaican) team. Are you going to tell me that shouldn’t be questioned?” Lewis goes on to say, “People forget that I was the first one to speak out about Ben [Johnson], and I got crucified. A year later, I was a prophet. The athletes have to say, ‘No, this isn’t right.’ They know who’s on it. They need to step up.” Carl Lewis knows track and sprinting better than anyone, if he doesn’t trust it, neither should you.

Usain Bolt BEAT his competition in the Olympics
Billy Beater

Usain Bolt is a modern marvel of sports. He has set world records, and has raised the bar in the sport of sprinting. He has done so legally and cleanly. He has repeatedly been tested, including during the Olympics and he has come up clean every time. Bolt is 6′5″ and built for speed. His long stride allows him to cover more ground than his competitors, which gives him an advantage. It is similar to the physical advantages that Michael Phelps has. These advantages are natural, and not part of a doping regimen. The Jamaican Observer has an entire list of reasons that Usain Bolt and other Jamaican sprinters run fast, and none of them include cheating. Usain Bolt beat his competitors in the Olympics and is an International hero.

So what do you think, did Usain Bolt CHEAT, or did he BEAT his competitors?

was that a quasi socio-political commentary tied into a discussion about track and field? you silly motherfucker…

your entire island is a caricature of itself.. weed smoking, dread wearing, jar jar banks talking, bufoonish fucks listening to bob marley all day..

i love it that such a nation exists….flies in the face of darwinism.

i agree we should all rejoice in bolt’s record. by far the proudest moment in this insignificant, shit stain of a country’s history.

    booyakah *air horns sounding*

I make no apologies for tearing down all sad records by black americans who still sit in mental slavery and are only used to opress other blacks… like the maroons we hitting from unbelieveable zones lioke it or not dem still a get lick…. if we dig up the bones of some athletes that use to beat Merlene we would find a fermented version of some power drugs,

Okay let us get technical… Merlene did 10.7..on slow tracks with no specials shoes… so weh she woulda do now…. BOLT is just manifestation of the queen of Jamaica athletics Merlene….. if Bolt a cheat let us all enjoy these fools crying until somebody find out. Until then

    ” to the worl”

Illogical fools… Nice way to make a point by making accusations (like Carl Lewis) without any facts.

I have always admired Maurice Green for what he has done. I respect his world record of 9.78 if only for the fact that he has never been tested positive. (Whether or not he cheated is not for me to decide. The facts shows that he didn’t and that’s what I will accept)

Now here comes Bolt. Until it’s a fact that he is a VITAMINS taker I will not accuse him as such, but if he is, I can tell you that I will be one of the first to lash out. I can tell you this as well, Jamaicans will defend you to the end of the earth when you are right, but they will as quickly crucify you when you are in the wrong (Just ask Ottey). Bolt has more to fear from his countrymen that from you and me and the rest of the world.

You made my point brilliantly and in such elegant words:
“It’s idiotic to imply that merely because he is tested and has passed that he is therefore clean. It’s also equally idiotic to assume that merely because he broke the record in such dramatic fashion that he has to be a cheat.”

Now since the facts shows that he is not a Chester cheater, why not see him as a Billy Beater until proven otherwise?

We accuse him incase later on he is tested positive we can always say “I told you so”. Is “I told you so” that important to the point that we rather tear down this young man without any prove? Why can’t we just enjoy his talent, and if (god forbid) he is proven to be a cheater we attack him with everything we got (similar to what we all are doing now)

didn’t they, and don’t they always test everyone before and after events… yet we have had numeorus champions fall from grace after many years of successfully beating tests.. so it’s idiotic to imply that merely because he is tested and has passed that he is therefore clean. it’s also equally idiotic to assume that merely because he broke the record in such dramatic fashion that he has to be a cheat. innocence should be assumed, but it is certainly fair to doubt and reserve final judgement. replace bolt’s name with any other record setter who was later discovered to be a cheat, and the initial discussion about the person’s accomplishments before they were busted would unfold the same way. with half of the posts making accusations, and half defending and accusing the accusers of being haters. it’s an unfortunate perversity of the nature of knowing something completely that we will never know for certain if he was truly clean for each one of his races, but that one negative test or revelation of cheating will impugn every race he ever ran. it’s unfair to him actually, but it’s a sport full of cheats, so a bit of cynicism is warranted. even if he was motivated by jealousy, carl lewis is right. and the fact that he himself was a record setting cheat, should actually lend credence to what he is saying as opposed to discrediting him - you illogical fools.

Lets look at the 3 things mentioned that can improve breaking records:

    1) natural talent and performance
at high school (Jamaican boys champs) Bolt was setting records. At world juniors he was setting records. Now a pro, he is still setting records. Does this suggest talent???

    2) drug performance (and medicine in general)
He is the most tested athlete(along with Asafa Powell and Tyson Gay) for the past year despite what Carl Lewis has said. Bolt has been tested in and out of competition for the past year. Does this mean a lab similar to BALCO is in Jamaica that is producing new undetectable VITAMINS?

    3) material (shoes, track, etc.)
I must agree here that material has improved, mostly tracks. The modern track does give a lot of assistance to the runner. He’s guilty there for running on modern designed tracks. But isn’t the competition running on the same track?

He is no surprise on the scene. He came through the ranks, breaking records at all levels. Why is it so impossible to believe that he is the real deal? I guess I can’t blame you guys with all that corruption that the American sprinters of the past (including Lewis) have brought to the sport

    Louitch Says:

I don’t care about what Carl Lewis said, but Bolt is undoubtedly taking performance-enhancing drugs, just as all other top athletes. Period.

Please take professional sport for what it is.
3 things can be improved to continue breaking records:
    1) natural talent and performance
    2) drug performance (and medicine in general)
    3) material (shoes, track, etc.)

Only the last two can still improve over time!

    KidFischer Says:

All the years when the US dominated track, Jamaicans have always been there. Ottie, Cuthbert and Grace Jackson (to name few) were always there getting silver and bronze in the shadows of the US women in 100m and 200m. The Jamaican men were only getting the silver and bronze in the 400m, 4×400m and the 4×100m (all dominated by the US during the 80s and 90s). The rest of the world has always suspected drugs but not until the BALCO scandal did it all come to light.

Now that the Jamaicans are currently world leaders in sprint, the American athletes (including Carl Lewis) cannot believe it can be done without drugs because that’s what they did during their dominance.

Carl Lewis is talking about Bolt running 10.03 and sub 9.8 the following year and how surprising that is… well not for me. Reason: Bolt was only focusing on the 200m then. Now he is also focusing on the 100m hence he will naturally improve his time, and considering the talent he has, a year is more than enough for him to run the times he did.

Talking about surprises… it has always been a surprise to me how Jamaican Junior athletes dominate the US juniors at Penn relays and world juniors but as soon as they turn pro the US athletes are way ahead. Now that they can’t take their VITAMINS as they use to, the real US track is now exposed for the world to see.

    Junior Says:

Why is it that when Americans do anything considered great then all is well but if anyone beats them then you “have to look int that” like that said of Carl Lewis. Usain is just great and there are others in Jamaica who i believe are just as fast but not yet recognized. Just give the man his due credit not a failed test to his credit and 3 broken records in one Olympics and now a fourth broken record at Berlin.

    Marlon Says:

DH that may be true for the UK but if Jamaicans were doing that Merlene Ottey would not have been known as the bronze queen.FYI Bolt ran 20.61 in the 200m when he was 15 years old; he ran 10.03 the first time he ran the 100m, he also still has the high school record 45.30 for Jamaica in the 400m; he ran all these times as a junior, so for you to say he cut his time by half a second is to ignore his progress from a junoir athlete to now. Usain Bolt is simply the greatest sprinter and maybe athlete we have ever seen.

  10. 51
    DH Says:

I have worked for united kingdom athletics for many year in physiotherapy departments and in rehabilitation, so from a person with inside knowledge and experience ,who is close friends with athletes all i have to say is this. If you want to compete at a professional level illegal supplementary help is needed.without a doubt.
For Usain Bolt to cut his time by 0.50 in a year speaks volumes. Hes a very charming guy and its amazing to see someone break so many records in front of your eyes.people naturally stand up for him but your all in denial if you think its all down to natural ability.
Jamaica’s testing policies have always been dodgy. Even when they carry out off-season random testing it is still governed by Jamaica its self. You have to remember Jamaica is a still very corrupt country.
Many renowned athletes have taken steroids for decades who already possess natural ability and have still never reached the times usain has reached. Natural ability can not compensate for these ridiculously fast time and constant record breaking.
